About

In 1993, Lou Mitchell, a lifetime tinkerer and craftsman opened the doors of The Continental Bronze Company, which would later become The Bronzery. Lou owned a plastic fabrication shop for over thirty years and did quite a bit of work for trophy stores. When he dabbled with metal plating equipment as a hobby, his customers began asking if he’d bronze shoes for them. Within a couple of years, Lou’s hobby grew into a steady side business and he enlisted the help of his daughter, Annie, to help with business development.

Sadly, as The Bronzery was winding down from the Christmas rush in January 1997, Lou was diagnosed with terminal cancer.  He died three months later on March 11th. Before his death, he asked Annie to take over the company. He told her, “You can do it and don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t.” Those words had a lasting effect on Annie.

She focused her full attention on The Bronzery, enlisting the help of her husband, Hoss, who quit his job to join the company. Together they worked to improve The Bronzery’s unrivaled metal finish quality, develop an array of beautiful mounting bases, and custom plate items other than baby shoes. We’ve bronzed everything from VHSs for the Los Angeles Music Video Festival to a pair of Justin Bieber’s Adidas (24 karat gold plating, of course).

Hoss and Annie quickly adapted to customer requests for laser engraving capabilities, expedited turn-around times, and customization control.  The Bronzery works closely with our customers to customize each unique item. For example, The Bronzery works with many corporate clients to bronze their company’s logo onto the actual item being plated for classy and memorable corporate awards.  Please visit our Clients section to see examples of our custom corporate awards.

Annie strongly believes in quality and customer service, which is why we offer our customers the best bronzing service possible.  Our customers are as special to us as your keepsake items are to you. We have come a long way, but our core principles will never waiver. We believe Lou would be proud!

Bronzery Logo      OUR LOGO       Bronzery Logo

We believe that our bronzing service is not only an important way for families to remember precious memories, but also provides important family heirlooms that can be passed on to the next generation.

When The Bronzery went through a major branding makeover in 2012, our new logo would represent our philosophical foundations about memory preservation. Time flutters by, never pausing.  But the precious moments like your child’s first tottering steps are forever ingrained in your memory both as a blurry glimpse to a time long past and as a reminder of the passing time. We believe that our bronzing service is able to halt the churning cogs of time and bring you to a moment that only exists in memories.

The rotating clock cog in our logo represents the timelessness of our bronzing service and our unwavering commitment to quality and consistency.
